TOMORROW, the Connecticut Legislature's Judiciary Committee will hear public testimony on a draft of a police reform bill that will be considered during a special legislative session. We need to stand with community activists in demanding the law go further to intervene against the violence of the state’s correctional institutions and police.
We are having a testimony writing workshop TODAY AT 4 PM EST. Here's the Zoom link
If you can't make the workshop, we also have a custom template you can download, fill in, and deliver to the committee.
There are two ways to make your voice heard:
1. Submit your written testimony to the Judiciary Committee by emailing the Word or PDF file of your testimony to JUDtestimony@cga.ct.gov
2. Sign up to testify over Zoom at tomorrow's virtual public hearing. If you'd like to deliver spoken testimony, make sure to sign up online before 6 pm TODAY. The hearing will begin at 10:00 A.M. and end no later than 10:00 PM. To access the livestream of the virtual committee meeting, please visit CT-N.com. Speaker order will be listed in a randomized order from the approved registrants and available on the Judiciary Committee's website.
